നിദ്ര നടിച്ചു തിരിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കവേ;

Time for introspection!

My sincere advise to Team Anna is that they should now go for a long long walk. May be they could ask a few top BJP leaders, some chief ministers and cabinet ministers ( those who are still not been arrested ), ,some industrialists, even some media persons to keep them company . They should carry with them a copy of the Bible and occasionally refer to that famous story. Alternatively they can take a print out of this story which I am giving below for their easy access ( I am doing this out of sheer respect for Anna ):

"And early in the morning He came again into the Temple and all the people came unto Him; and He sat down, and taught them."
"And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the Law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou?"
"This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him."
"But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not. So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground."
"And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst."
"When Jesus had lifted up Himself, and saw none but the woman, He said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Hath no man condemned thee?"
"She said, No man, Lord."
"And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." (John 8:2-11 KJV)

Is there still  hope for us ,Indians ?

Out of the mouths of little children.........

We sat down for a lazy Sunday breakfast. My daughter -in-law had baked some exotic dish . Its very sight was tickling my taste buds. As I started to pick up one piece, I heard a small voice from the chair next to me " Achamma, can we save one piece for my daddy ?"
That was my 6 year old grandson thinking of his father who was away on work.

I just remembered the psalm " Out of the mouths of little children.....". Amen !

The Only Link Now........

This was Babuchetten's last sms to me :

"Never blame any day in your life..
Good days give you happiness,
Bad days give you experience,
And worst days give you a lesson…”

It ended with his signature line :
“Good morning and have a great day!”.

And then  he left without even saying a good bye...

I wonder how many' good days' he has seen in his life! Certainly not many . Born with the proverbial silver spoon in the mouth, he was soon thrown out of that comfort zone when fate cruelly snatched away his father. Growing up in a joint family with a widowed mother , that too in the shadow of an almost perfect sister must have been tough for this intelligent but rebellious boy. And it showed in more ways than one. Dropped out of college ,gave up a well paying bank job and did all that we would shudder to even think of. He couldn’t careless, not for him the so-called social norms. In that process he rubbed many people on the wrong side.
But ,for some of us at least , Babuchetten was affection personified. All that he had stored up in his heart were showered generously on my two sisters and my niece .( He was always at logger heads with me ,often bullying me to tears)Perhaps even the gods must have been moved by his extravagant emotions and so gave him a daughter. He doted on her, lived and breathed for her. Everything was picture perfect for him, or so he thought till things started falling apart. He put on a brave front as usual. Never complained. But the pain and agony took its toll . It looks as though he lost the will to live and gave up!
Many images are flashing through my mind... that naughty teasing smile, his trade mark habit of twisting a strand of hair at the top of the head with the forefinger whenever he is in a thoughtful mood, the defensive stammer when confronted….
Memories ,however sad,is our only link to you now, dear brother ! We will treasure them. You will forever live in our hearts !
